"We hire people that smile." Human Relations Employment Manager Jessie Dyer explained to the CEO that class that the two most important traits the French Lick Resort looks for in prospective employees are the ability to smile and a willingness to learn. Dyer went on the explain that "we can train you" to do the job you were hired for.

The French Lick Resort was purchased by the Cook Medical Group in 2005 and has undergone an extensive renovation of over $500 million dollars over that time period. Both the French Lick and West Baden Hotels had to be remodeled as both were falling into disrepair. Our hosts, Jessie Dyer, Summer Foxx and Joseph Blankenbaker emphasized to the students the soft skills that the resort looks for in potential employees. Over 1700 people are employed both full and part time during the resorts summer months. After a tour which was led by Summer and Joey, the class took a trolley to the West Baden property. This hotel is considered the 8th wonder of the world with its dome shaped structure. During lunch, the class has the awesome opportunity to sit down and talk with Steve Ferguson, Chairman of the Cook Medical Group and the person who oversee the Resorts daily operations. Mr. Ferguson asked and answered every students questions.
