Two very important lessons on quality control and managing costs were taught today by Sheldon Graber, owner of Destination Yachts in Washngton, Indiana. "What does it cost to keep the lights on?" Sheldon explained the importance of knowing your overhead costs in managing a business. Without knowing these costs and how to manage them, bankruptcy could occur. Graber also explained the importance of quality. He said "you must put in quality materials, use quality tools, etc. to produce quality end products." If not, you won't last very long.

Destination Yachts was started in 1996 by Sheldon Graber to build high end houseboats that reached over 1 million dollars in price. Before Destination Yachts, Sheldon started MyYacht Company in Northern Indiana in 1989. After selling MyYacht and working for that company for 3 years, he decided to start another company in Daviess County. Currently, they are 74 weeks out in building boats. That's 1.5 years of business already booked.

Thank you Sheldon for a very interesting look at a unique business in Daviess County.
