On Wednesday 2/1/23, the CEO class got the opportunity to go to main street and visit Dusty Davis Construction. The class got to speak with Dusty Davis and Ryan Dashner. The two have been best friends since they were little and now get to spend everyday with each other as coworkers. Dusty Davis Construction focuses on the preservation and revival of historic buildings downtown in Washington. They began by sharing with the class what projects they have done before and are working on currently. It was very interesting to hear about some of their upcoming projects too.
Ryan began by sharing his story and how he got to be back in Washington. Ryan talked about how he traveled to many places all over the world working and gaining experiences. It was extremely interesting to hear different stories of opportunities he got to experience and how he grew from them. He then shared how he came back to Washington expecting to be retired and done with work, but he couldn’t be without work for too long. He then joined Dusty with his company and has been there ever since.
Dusty also began by sharing how he got to where he is at today. He shared how he started out in insurance and then transitioned into the construction world. He spoke about how his experiences in insurance still help him in his current job in construction. In addition, Dusty shared a lot of the history of main street with the class. He is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to main street history, and it was very cool to hear from him.
Thank you Dusty and Ryan for taking time out of your busy day and spending it with the CEO class.
