On Wednesday 4/26/23, the Daviess County CEO class had the opportunity to speak with three amazing women from Edward Jones. The class talked to Kristin Miles, Sarah Browning, and Tara Brower. Each of the women took the time to talk about their life experiences and how they ended up at Edward Jones. Kristin began by telling her story and how she got to where she is today. She spoke on how her connections she made early in life and past job experiences helped her to obtain new jobs. In addition, Kirstin talked about how Covid helped to create a whole lot of job opportunities here in Daviess County. She said that her favorite part of working at Edward Jones is the vast amount of opportunities of networking. Next, Tara spoke about her life experiences and how she got to be where she is today. She spoke on how her first job was one where she actually advised the financial advisors on insurance instead of advising clients directly. She said that she really liked this because she felt as if she was way too young to be advising clients straight out of school. Tara also gave the class the great advice of, “Think about what makes you happy, and that’s how you choose a career.” Last but certainly not least, Sarah spoke on her life experiences. She discussed how she began working at the young age of 22. She gave the class a lot of great life advice for each of their future careers. She stated, “Continue education as you go in, it will always make you a better leader, employer, and employee.” Sarah really emphasized the importance of always continuing to learn in whatever you may be doing, because it only makes you better yourself. Another piece of advice she had for the class was that in whatever their future careers may be, community involvement is always important. She discussed how at Edward Jones they always enjoy any opportunity they get to help out the community. Community involvement is extremely beneficial in both networking and the business world.
Thank you so much, Kirstin, Sarah, and Tara! We appreciate each of you taking time out of your busy schedule to spend it with the CEO class!
