On Monday, April 21, the Daviess County CEO Cohort had the privilege of welcoming a special guest: Brooklyn Wittmer. Widely recognized for her powerful portrayal of Adriana in the acclaimed film Don't Say My Name, Brooklyn recently earned the Best Actress Award at the Content 2022 Film Festival & News Media Summit.
But Brooklyn’s creative talents extend beyond acting. She has recently stepped into the world of music, launching her career with original songs that reflect her personal journey and faith. Her debut single, Seasons Change, followed by Rise, and out this month, God Knew.
Despite the demands of pursuing two artistic paths, Brooklyn remains grounded and grateful. Her commitment to both film and music is driven by a desire for creative excellence and a passion for meaningful expression.
A 2015 graduate of Barr-Reeve High School, Brooklyn reflected fondly on her roots during her visit. She shared how a simple advertisement sparked her interest in acting—an unexpected beginning to a remarkable career.
In her conversation with the CEO Cohort, Brooklyn offered insight and advice drawn from her own life experiences. She emphasized the importance of authenticity, consistency, relationships, kindness, collaboration, and having the courage to step outside your comfort zone. She encouraged students to stay genuine, express gratitude, and embrace journaling as a tool for self-reflection.
One of her most powerful messages was the reminder that it’s okay to say “no.” She stressed the value of supportive friends, family, and followers, and urged the cohort to listen to their audience and nurture those relationships. "People truly want to see others succeed," she said.
Brooklyn Wittmer’s visit left a profound impression on the Daviess County CEO Cohort. Her story is one of resilience, purpose, and the transformative power of artistic expression. We are grateful for her visit, and we look forward to watching her journey unfold as she continues to inspire through both film and music.
