Daviess County CEO Cohort Visits Wagler Custom Homes for an Inside Look at Excellence and Efficiency
On April 22, the Daviess County CEO Cohort took an insightful trip to Sandborn to visit Wagler Custom Homes, where they were warmly welcomed by Vice President Lyndon Wagler. The visit included an in-depth tour of the company’s fabrication plant and a firsthand look into their innovative operations and guiding principles.
One unique feature of Wagler Custom Homes is their use of railcar transportation for lumber—an alternative to traditional semi-truck delivery. This choice reflects their strong commitment to efficiency and sustainability. Lyndon explained that their goal is to be a one-stop shop, managing every step of the homebuilding process with precision and care. “From concept to completion,” he shared, “each project is handled by a dedicated team of Project Managers, Superintendents, and Skilled Construction Crews.”
Efficiency, as Lyndon emphasized, is not just about speed—it’s a mindset that touches every part of the company’s operations. From minimizing waste to repurposing even the smallest scraps of wood, Wagler Custom Homes demonstrates a deep commitment to resourcefulness and quality.
During the tour, Lyndon also shared practical wisdom and leadership insights with the cohort. He spoke on the importance of first impressions and encouraged students to learn every part of a job, regardless of their future role. Many team members at Wagler Custom Homes, he noted, begin by sweeping floors and cleaning concrete—instilling a foundation of humility, respect, and hard work.
The Daviess County CEO Cohort is sincerely grateful to Lyndon Wagler for his time and thoughtful guidance. The visit not only provided a behind-the-scenes look at efficient construction practices but also delivered valuable life lessons in leadership, teamwork, and the importance of doing every task with excellence.
