Daviess County CEO Tours Stunning Home with J & L Home Center
On Friday, May 9, the Daviess County CEO Cohort took a memorable trip to the west end of Hwy 50 for an exclusive home tour hosted by J & L Home Center. This visit came as a follow-up to an earlier conversation with Mike James, who had sparked the group’s curiosity by suggesting a potential walkthrough of a finished home. That idea quickly became reality—and it did not disappoint.
The cohort was welcomed into a beautifully crafted home nearing completion. “WOW” was the resounding sentiment from the students as they explored the space. From thoughtful layouts to striking finishes, every detail left an impression. A hidden second kitchen was among the highlights, emphasizing the theme of design surprises and intentional planning.
Mike James didn’t just showcase the craftsmanship—he shared wisdom too. Drawing parallels between home-building and life, he reminded the group, “Always investigate. Don’t be fooled—look around.” His message centered on awareness, paying attention to detail, and recognizing the importance of what’s beneath the surface.
“Details—they’re what make things POP,” Mike noted, tying design elements to real-life lessons in presence and intentionality. As the students prepare for busy futures, he left them with one final reminder: “Make sure you can shut off at the end of the day.” A simple but powerful encouragement to maintain balance.
Thank you, Mike James and J & L Home Center, for the incredible tour, the thoughtful insights, and your continued support of the CEO program.
