On September 19th, the Daviess County CEO Cohort had the opportunity to visit Viking Country Kennel, owned and operated by Marvin and Norma Stoll. Since 2001, the Stolls have dedicated themselves to ethical puppy breeding, and in January 2023, they relocated to a new, state-of-the-art facility that impresses everyone who walks through the doors.
The tour showcased the kennel’s modern design, advanced amenities, and most importantly, the Stolls’ unwavering commitment to raising healthy, happy puppies. Licensed breeders since 2001, Marvin and Norma follow strict USDA regulations and go above and beyond to ensure each puppy is cared for in a nurturing environment. From early socialization and exposure to new experiences to beginning leash training before adoption, every step reflects their dedication to animal welfare.
During the visit, Marvin shared valuable insights about the challenges ethical breeders face, including the stigma of puppy mills. The Stolls talked about their use of micro chipping for safety and identification, highlighting another layer of responsibility in their breeding practices.
The highlight of the day for many students was spending time in the puppy playroom, where the energy, charm, and playfulness of the dogs left a lasting impression.
The Daviess County CEO Cohort is grateful to Marvin and Norma for their hospitality and transparency in sharing the inner workings of their business. Viking Country Kennel stands out as a shining example of responsible breeding—where the health, happiness, and future of every puppy comes first.
