On September 23rd, members of the Daviess County CEO Cohort had the honor of joining the Martin County Cohort for an engaging visit with Brooke Hawkins at Hawkins Health Center. Brooke, who partners with her husband Jordan, shared their inspiring journey into chiropractic care and the evolution of their business, offering valuable lessons for aspiring entrepreneurs. Joining Brooke were two members of the Vision Team, Gabby Hyde and Leyna Wagler, who added their own insights to the discussion.
Brooke opened the session by emphasizing the importance of dreaming big and finding one’s passion. Becoming a chiropractor, she explained, was always “a dream” for her. She encouraged students to set clear goals and trust the process, reminding them that intuition and a willingness to learn from failure are key ingredients to success. Her mantra, “Fail forward—no regrets,” resonated deeply, reinforcing the idea that setbacks are valuable opportunities for growth.
A central theme of the visit was the importance of cultivating a positive workplace culture. Brooke reminded everyone to embrace the privilege of coming to work each day and to stay connected to their “WHY”—the deeper motivation that drives their efforts and purpose.
She also discussed the importance of establishing core values and a mission statement when starting a business. Brooke shared Hawkins Health Center’s core values, which guide their daily operations and team interactions:
***Leadership: Leading patients, doctors, and teammates with confidence and compassion.
***Chiropractic: Sharing chiropractic stories to promote awareness and understanding.
***Passion: Demonstrating a heartfelt commitment to patient wellness.
***WOW Service: Striving to exceed expectations and provide exceptional service.
***Integrity: Doing what’s right—even when no one is watching.
These guiding principles foster a supportive and thriving environment for both patients and staff. Brooke encouraged the students to always make time for reflection, remain coachable, expand their vision, and, most importantly, to lead with grace.
As the visit concluded, both cohorts expressed their gratitude to Brooke for sharing her time and wisdom. The experience served as a powerful reminder of how strong leadership, clear values, and a purpose-driven mindset can shape lasting success in both business and life.
