On Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, the Daviess County CEO Cohort had the chance to visit Graber Granite, a well-known company that makes custom granite and quartz countertops. The group was welcomed by founder Loren Graber, who gave them a close look at how the business operates each day.
Loren started the tour by showing students the many types of countertops the company creates. He explained how each piece begins as natural stone from different parts of the world and then moves through cutting, shaping, delivery, and installation. He also talked about the company’s focus on honesty and putting customers first, which has helped the business grow over the past ten years.
During the visit, Loren stressed that if you do good work and build strong relationships, positive word of mouth will naturally follow. He reminded students that there will always be a learning curve in business, no matter how experienced you are. He encouraged them to see great customer service as one of their biggest assets and to always aim for 100% customer satisfaction.
As Graber Granite gets ready to celebrate its 12th anniversary this fall, the visit showed how hard work, quality products, and strong customer service can lead to long-term success in a competitive field.
One of the highlights of the day was walking through the production area. Students watched large machines carefully cut and polish the stone. They also saw skilled workers shaping and finishing each piece. The process combined modern technology with hands-on craftsmanship.
The tour ended in the storage area, where finished countertops were displayed. The wide range of colors, patterns, and designs impressed the students and showed the company’s attention to detail.
At the end of the visit, the cohort thanked Loren Graber for the warm welcome and for giving them a behind-the-scenes look at the business. They also appreciated the homemade cinnamon rolls and Graber Granite swag.
