On Wednesday, April 1, 2026, the Daviess County CEO Cohort had the opportunity to welcome a very special guest, Brooklyn Wittmer. Best known for her compelling role as Adriana in the film Don’t Say My Name, Brooklyn received the Best Actress Award at the Content 2022 Film Festival & News Media Summit.
While her success in film is impressive, Brooklyn has also been expanding her talents into music. She has begun releasing original songs that reflect her personal journey and faith, including Seasons Change, Rise, and God Knew. She even sang a new song for us that hopefully will be released soon.
Balancing both acting and singing, Brooklyn shared how she remains grounded through gratitude, hard work, and a strong sense of purpose. Her dedication to both crafts is fueled by a passion for meaningful storytelling and creative growth.
Being a 2015 graduate of Barr-Reeve High School, Brooklyn spoke fondly of her roots. She explained how her journey into acting began unexpectedly after seeing a simple advertisement—proof that even small moments can lead to life-changing opportunities.
During her time with the cohort, Brooklyn offered valuable advice drawn from her experiences. She emphasized the importance of authenticity, consistency, strong relationships, kindness, collaboration, and stepping outside of one’s comfort zone. She also highlighted the importance of journaling—something that resonated deeply with the cohort, as it makes up a significant portion of their program.
She encouraged students to:
1. Do the little things well
2. Stay on top of communication
3. Be open-handed and not hold too tightly to one path
4. Understand that visions can change—and that’s okay
5. Show up consistently
6. Use the many tools available and always do your research
7. Seek guidance from others and avoid staying in a narrow lane
8. Focus on passion rather than competition
9. Build trust and surround yourself with reliable people
One of her impactful messages that we all need to know was the importance of knowing when to say “no.” She stressed the value of supportive relationships and encouraged students to listen to their audience and nurture those connections. As she shared, “People truly want to see others succeed.”
Brooklyn left a lasting impression on the Daviess County CEO Cohort. Her story reflects resilience, purpose, and the power of pursuing passions wholeheartedly. The cohort is grateful for her visit and looks forward to following her continued success in both acting and music.
