On April 2, 2026, the Daviess County CEO Cohort traveled to Sandborn for an engaging visit to Wagler Commercial Framing, where Owner and President Larry Wagler welcomed the group. Students toured the company’s fabrication facility, gaining a closer look at its operations, craftsmanship, and the values that drive its success.
A standout aspect of Wagler Commercial Framing is its use of railcar transportation to deliver lumber, rather than relying solely on semi-trucks. This approach highlights the company’s focus on efficiency and sustainability. Larry explained that their vision is to operate as a comprehensive, start-to-finish home building company, where every phase is carefully coordinated. Each project is managed by a dedicated team that includes project managers, superintendents, and skilled construction crews working together to ensure quality results.
Throughout the visit, Larry emphasized that efficiency goes beyond working quickly—it’s about being intentional in every step. From reducing waste to repurposing leftover materials, the company prioritizes smart, resourceful practices that support both quality and sustainability.
In addition to sharing insights about the business, Larry offered valuable advice on leadership and work ethic. He stressed the importance of making strong first impressions and encouraged students to learn all aspects of a job, no matter their future career goals. At Wagler Commercial Framing, many employees begin with foundational tasks like cleaning and site preparation, building a culture rooted in humility, respect, and diligence.
The Daviess County CEO Cohort extends its appreciation to Larry for his time and willingness to share his experiences. The visit provided not only a deeper understanding of the construction industry, but also meaningful lessons in leadership, teamwork, and taking pride in every responsibility.
