On April 7, the Daviess County CEO Cohort traveled along St. Mary’s Road for a behind-the-scenes look at Galaxy Circuits—one of the area’s most compelling entrepreneurial success stories. Doug Knepp, alongside his sons Luke and Logan, welcomed the group and guided them through both the facility and its production process.
Though modestly situated within the community, Galaxy Circuits has established itself as a leader in off-grid lighting and electronics. The company’s growth reflects the kind of innovation and determination that continues to shape Daviess County’s business landscape. Recently, the Knepp family expanded their retail presence by purchasing the Red Barn in Cannelburg, relocating Galaxy Circuits’ storefront to better serve customers and enhance the space’s offerings.
Galaxy Circuits focuses on designing and manufacturing battery-powered products tailored for plain communities and off-grid living. From dependable lighting to essential electronic solutions, their work meets critical needs in areas without reliable access to traditional power—demonstrating both ingenuity and real-world impact.
Doug Knepp’s journey struck a chord with the students, highlighting the persistence and purpose behind the company’s success. He shared a key lesson from his experience: failure is often the greatest teacher.
At its core, Galaxy Circuits is a family-driven operation. Doug emphasized that working alongside his sons has long been a personal goal—one that has now become a reality through their shared vision and dedication. The cohort left the visit with a deeper understanding of entrepreneurship grounded in family values, community connection, and meaningful problem-solving.
The Daviess County CEO Cohort extends sincere thanks to Doug Knepp and the Galaxy Circuits team for their hospitality and insight. Their story stands as a powerful example of the entrepreneurial spirit driving Daviess County forward.
