Daviess County CEO Welcomes 2015 Alumnus Blaine Fuhs for an Inspiring Message
On August 31, 2026, the Daviess County CEO Cohort welcomed back one of its own, Blaine Fuhs, a 2015 CEO alumnus, for a meaningful and motivational session. The Martin County CEO cohorts also joined the event, bringing together a larger group of young entrepreneurs ready to learn, reflect, and grow.
Blaine, an entrepreneur, speaker, and leader, encouraged students to look beyond their daily responsibilities and think about the bigger purpose behind their lives. He opened the discussion with a question many people ask at some point: “Why are we here?”
His message centered on discovering the greatness within each person and using that potential to make a difference. Blaine challenged the students to “be a light,” find their platform, and avoid allowing ego to stand in the way of growth. He also reminded them that life can become so busy with planning what comes next that we forget to appreciate the present moment.
Lessons from Blaine’s Message
** Throughout the session, Blaine shared several ideas for personal growth, leadership, and entrepreneurship:
** Find Your Purpose: Understand what truly motivates you and gives your life direction. Success is more meaningful when it is connected to a deeper purpose.
** Discover Your Greatness: Everyone has unique gifts, talents, and abilities. Take time to recognize what makes you special and how you can use those strengths.
** Be a Light: Choose kindness, encouragement, and positivity. A simple act of kindness can make a difference in someone else’s day.
** Keep Dreaming: Continue to dream, take chances, and learn from failure. Setbacks can become opportunities to grow and try something new.
** Pursue Your People: Build relationships and look for ways to make an impact in the lives of others. Do not wait for opportunities to come to you—be willing to step forward and serve.
** Add Value to Others: True leadership is not just about personal accomplishments. It is also about helping others succeed and making a positive difference.
** Use Your Voice: Your experiences, ideas, and encouragement may be exactly what someone else needs to hear. Do not be afraid to share your message.
** Be Available: Make time for family, friends, and your community. Being present and willing to listen is an important part of building meaningful relationships.
** Never Underestimate a Smile: Small gestures can break down barriers, create connections, and brighten someone’s day.
** Embrace Your Uniqueness: Each person is different, creative, and valuable. Your individuality is something to appreciate rather than hide.
** Choose Purpose Over Potential: Having talent is important, but using that talent with purpose is what gives it meaning.
** Be Authentic: Stay true to who you are instead of constantly seeking approval or trying to follow every trend.
**Make Time to Reflect: Blaine encouraged journaling as a way to organize thoughts, record goals, recognize progress, and gain a better understanding of yourself.
Blaine also challenged the students to consider the difference between being good and being great. His message emphasized that greatness is not necessarily about fame, recognition, or success in the eyes of others. Instead, it is about living with purpose, using your gifts, and making a positive impact.
As the session came to a close, both cohorts expressed their appreciation to Blaine for returning to share his time, experience, and wisdom. His encouragement gave students valuable reminders to carry with them as they continue developing their businesses, building relationships, and preparing for their futures.
