Daviess County CEO Cohort Welcomes Tracy “TC” Cook, on Thursday, October 8, 2026, the Daviess County CEO Cohort welcomed Tracy “TC” Cook, Chief Operating Officer of the Ezra Institute, Daviess County Commissioner, and former Director of the Powerhouse. Cook shared his personal journey and offered valuable lessons on leadership, integrity, and the importance of taking advantage of opportunities.
He encouraged students to take risks early in life, step outside their comfort zones, and never be afraid to pursue an opportunity. He reminded the cohort that you will never know if the answer is yes or no unless you make the call. He also challenged students to dream big, explaining that if your vision does not scare you a little, you may be thinking too small.
A major theme of TC’s presentation was the importance of integrity and reputation. He explained that a strong reputation begins with the choices we make today, including how we treat others, communicate, and follow through on commitments. The reputation students build now can influence their careers, relationships, and opportunities for years to come.
TC also emphasized the importance of clear communication, making a positive first impression, and following up when necessary. He reminded students that mistakes are part of learning, but what matters most is how we respond to setbacks and apply those lessons moving forward.
Drawing from his professional and community leadership experiences, he discussed the importance of time management, asking thoughtful questions, and directing energy toward meaningful goals. He reminded students that life is a marathon, not a sprint, and that lasting success comes from consistent effort and good decisions over time.
TC also introduced students to the basic rules and responsibilities involved in operating a nonprofit organization, providing insight into organizational leadership and accountability.
The Daviess County CEO Cohort sincerely thanks TC for sharing his time, experiences, and practical wisdom. His message encouraged students to take initiative, dream bigger, and remember that integrity, reputation, and success are built through the choices we make every day.
