"Necessity is the mother of all inventions!" This quote by TrueScripts founder and owner Nathan Gabhart stressed how this company began in 2013. The company has grown from 5 employees to currently 60 employees. Nathan was a pharmacist for many years before seeing the need for a Prescription Benefit Manager (PBM) start-up business. Nathan explained that a PBM is the middleman between employers and pharmacies. They manage the prescription plan that customers use when visiting a pharmacy for medicines. Nathan emphasized that TrueScripts has grown organically. They do not spend money on marketing their services to customers. Their greatest selling point is word of mouth from their satisfied customers.

The executive staff also spoke to the class. COO Ken Kemker stated that TrueScripts provides service at a level of 98% within the industry. In fact, one of the students called TrueScripts and the call was answered before the second ring.Chief Strategy Officer Zach Robinson explained that his department is the mortar that holds all departments together. Chief Information Officer Kurt Carpenter spent time showing and explaining the various types of metric data that his department is responsible for. Dean Merder, Chief Experience Officer said that the goal is the maintain and retain customers. TrueScripts wants to go deeper with client relationships before going broader and acquiring more clients. In it's sixth year, this start-up company hasn't reached is full sales potential.
